Our Story
In a world that asks us to move faster, we were created as a place to slow down.

506 Porter Street · Historic downtown Taylor, Texas
Set within a lovingly restored 1880s home in the heart of historic downtown Taylor, Texas, our tea house offers five intimate, uniquely designed rooms where guests can gather around a beautifully set table, share thoughtfully prepared food and exceptional loose-leaf tea, and, for a little while, let the world wait.
The Taylor Tea House was never meant to be simply about tea.
It was created around something we believe has become increasingly precious: genuine human connection.
The kind that happens when the phones are put away and conversation lingers. When laughter carries across a table. When someone feels truly welcomed, remembered, and seen. When friends reconnect, generations gather, milestones are celebrated, or two people simply make time for one another.
We believe these are the moments that stay with us.
That longing for deeper connection, fewer distractions, and a more meaningful way of gathering is what inspired The Taylor Tea House.
From the moment you arrive, our hope is that you feel less like a reservation and more like a long-awaited friend. We want you to settle in, exhale, and know that for the next little while, your only responsibility is to enjoy the people around your table.
And when the last cup has been poured, we hope you leave a little lighter than when you arrived, with a memory worth keeping and a reason to return.
Our home is also an invitation to discover ours. Just beyond our doors, downtown Taylor’s boutiques, antique shops, historic streets, and small-town treasures invite you to linger a little longer and experience the community we are proud to be part of.
The Taylor Tea House exists to give us permission to pause, to be fully present, and to remember the beauty of being human together.
